These consumer terms apply to personal purchases of machinery, tooling, accessories, spares and paper manuals.
Your order summary shows the goods, selected options, quantities, price including VAT and delivery charge. Review and correct these details before payment.
We deliver within 30 days unless we agree another delivery period with you before you order. If you need a specific date, contact us before paying.
If delivery or the specification needs confirmation, request a quotation before payment. We will not charge extra without your agreement.
You may cancel a standard online goods order from the time you place it until 14 days after the day you receive the goods. For goods delivered separately under one order, the period ends 14 days after the last item arrives. You do not need to give a reason.
Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel by email, telephone or post. You may use the cancellation form below, but this is optional. Send your cancellation before the deadline; you do not need our approval to exercise this right.
Return the goods within 14 days after telling us you are cancelling. Contact us for return routing; the registered office is not a goods-receiving address. Contacting us does not extend or restrict your cancellation rights.
For a change-of-mind return, you pay the direct cost of returning the goods. You may use your own suitable carrier or ask Carter to arrange collection for the VAT-inclusive charge shown before payment and saved with your order. We will not increase that collection charge. Where no collection charge is shown for a paper manual, you pay your chosen postal service directly.
We refund the goods and the least expensive standard outbound delivery charge for a cancelled whole order. Any additional premium-delivery charge is not refunded. There is no restocking fee.
We refund using the original payment method, without a refund fee, within 14 days after being told of cancellation. We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or evidence that you sent them back, whichever is earlier.
You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop. We may deduct only for loss of value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods have separate statutory rights. Contact us promptly; we cover reasonable necessary return costs for a valid fault or incorrect-supply claim. Your rights are not limited by a short damage-reporting deadline.
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. You normally have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods; repair, replacement, price reduction or final rejection rights may also apply. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
Standard catalogue options are not treated as bespoke merely because you choose a length or angle. Any genuinely personalised or custom-made order needs separate terms agreed before purchase.
Keep a copy of your order confirmation and these terms. We will provide a copy of the contract on paper or by email no later than delivery.
