Press brake maintenance checklist
Use this planning checklist alongside the exact machine manual and your safe working procedures. Inspection tasks and intervals depend on the machine, its use and the risk assessment.

Operator checks and records
| Before use | Follow the prescribed pre-use checks for guards, controls, tooling and the work area. Report damage, leaks, unusual noise or inconsistent operation and keep unsafe equipment out of service. |
|---|---|
| Tooling condition | Record damaged, loose or worn tools and holders. Only trained staff should change or adjust tooling using the machine’s specified safe procedure. |
| Maintenance log | Record the date, machine identity, operating hours where available, fault, action and responsible person. Keep manuals, service reports and controller backups accessible. |
Plan a competent service
| Safe isolation | Maintenance requires a planned safe system: isolate and lock off relevant energy sources, control stored energy and secure parts that could move or fall. Use competent personnel. |
|---|---|
| Service schedule | Use the manufacturer’s specified intervals and consumables. Agree lubrication, hydraulic or drive-system checks, alignment and safeguard inspection with the service provider. |
| Book with useful information | Send the machine model, serial number, controller, symptoms, photographs and postcode. Explain whether the machine is stopped and provide previous service records. |
